Well the surgery is over and I can see better today than I could yesterday with my glasses on. Apparently, although I don't remember a thing, I had quite a recovery day dealing with slaying dragons, staring monkeys and rude aliens. The stories sounds hilarious, but I'm not entirely sure that my friends aren't making it up. All I can say is Ambien is my friend!! My post-op appointment that lasted about 2 seconds was good. Dr. Stonecipher said everything looks good and I'm free to take a shower (just what everyone wants to hear). He said my eye hickies (that's right) should clear up soon. Had Donella been with me when he said that there would have been more than one of us laughing. The surgeon re-explained that I have some bruises (hickies, his word) are from the suction rings they used to make the flap. Anyway, I'm doing fine and it was absolutely wonderful to see the clock across the room this morning without putting on my glasses. That is something I have never been able to do as far back as I can remember. Thanks for all your calls, your thoughts and jokes are much appreciated.
The picures above were taken post op. The one in the background is right after and the one in the forefront was taken the morning after. And yes I was attempting to smile in the first one, the tape made it a bit difficult.

Let me just say...that I made nothing up. Dancing monkeys, people sitting on their hands, people playing with parachutes, hearing Oprah in your head, but by far...the best....was the rude, RUDE aliens that were setting of the alarms (that is what made them rude by the way). Had I not been spent all of my time trying not to laugh, I would have asked what the aliens looked like. I did ask how they got there, but you didn't know. In the event that Dawn is ever in this "state" again, please don't second guess what Dawn is telling you. She doesn't really like that. Glad you can see again!
OMG I am LOL. I can only imagine your reaction when questioned about the rude aliens setting off alarms. Btw what kind of drugs did they give you and do you have to have Lasix to get them?
